Rip Hamilton's hard work and dedication to success have resulted in his reputation as the NBA's
offensive workhorse.
His abilities to avoid screens, to utilize the pick and roll, and his
tireless effort to get off the shot have catapulted him to the top of
the NBA's elite players and were essential to the Detroit Pistons' 2004
NBA Championship. As a player at UCONN he was All-American, won a
national title and was voted the Final four's MVP in 1999. In the 1999
NBA Draft he was selected 7th overall and since his rookie year has
averaged 18.46 points per game during the regular season and 21.9
points per game during the playoffs.
While being regarded as one of the league's purest scorers, it is
Rip's understanding the fundamentals of team play the players
surrounding him, and his ethics that have led to him winning
championships at basketball's highest levels.
