At
6'10" Amare Stoudemire is one of the most versatile and athletic big
men in the game. He overcame tremendous adversity in his life to become
the Phoenix Suns' #1 pick straight out of high school in 2002.
In his debut year he led all rookies in rebounds, free throws made and
attempted, was 2nd in points, block shots and minutes, and was awarded
the league's Rookie of the Year. His unique athleticism for a big man
and his passion for learning the game resulted in Amare increasing his
numbers in almost every offensive and defensive category. In his
sophomore NBA season, he averaged 20.6 points and 9 rebounds per game,
earning his position as a member of 2004 US Olympic Team. |
